The Marienschacht Bannewitz, a technical-historical monument with an unmistakable view of the Elbe valley, is located about 9 kilometres from Dresden city centre. The former shaft was in operation until shortly before reunification and was then closed. Today, it has been almost completely renovated and can be used for events.
