In 1956, the Gloria Palast was opened by one of the most important figures in German film, producer Ilse Kubaschewski, as Munich's most modern film theatre and became a popular venue for glamorous film premieres. This cinema has rightly borne the name Gloria Palast ever since, as this special flair and the exclusive ambience of a film premiere can still be felt at every event today. In 2012, the Gloria Palast was reopened as Munich's first premium cinema and has stood for cinema enjoyment at the highest level ever since. Extra-wide leather armchairs including footstools and your own table, an exquisite selection of snacks and drinks and exclusive service make every event a very special treat. Cinema is entertainment, emotion and a social experience. You too can utilise this experience character for your own personal appearance, for internal and external events. Whether it's an employee incentive, conference, product presentation, press conference, symposium or your very own private screening - our experienced event team will be happy to assist you with the professional organisation and implementation of your event.
The use of reusable glass bottles in the confectionery counter area significantly reduces the amount of waste at Gloria Palast. Since July 2021, all KINOPOLIS cinemas have only offered reusable glass bottles.
Of course, we have long since replaced plastic straws with drinking straws made from natural fibres. These are not only naturally grown and biodegradable, but also keep their shape for a long time and have a neutral taste.
We have a long way to go - so we are all the more pleased that our cinema guests are willing to join us on this journey to make the cinema experience more sustainable.
The Gloria Palast has been powered exclusively by green electricity since June 2021*. The electricity is generated 100% ecologically from renewable energy sources such as sun, wind and water. No greenhouse gases such as CO2 are produced and the generation does not contribute to global warming.
